Bernhard Schoelkopf awarded with the Academy Prize 2012

Bernhard Schoelkopf received the Academy Prize of the the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities for his outstanding scientific achievements.

In the "Empirical Inference" department headed by Bernhard Schoelkopf new learning algorithms are developed to detect structures in various sorts of data. The methods include causal inference, pattern recognition, regression, density estimation, novelty detection and feature selection. 

Bernhard Schoelkopf is managing director of the newly founded Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems located in Tübingen and Stuttgart.
